health & diseases

Healthy ruminants are happy ruminants and are also more productive when in a healthy state. However, diseases can occur unexpectedly. While it’s useful to know what diseases often arise when raising ruminants, it’s still highly recommended to consult with a large-animal veterinarian to get a proper diagnosis, treatment, and preventative plan. PLEASE CONSULT WITH A VETERINARIAN TO GET A PROPER DIAGNOSIS.

Please note that this page and subsequent posts are for information purposes only.

I am not a practicing, licensed veterinarian and cannot provide a diagnosis for your sick animal[s].

If you have sick animals, please consult with a practicing, licensed large animal veterinarian to get a proper diagnosis. They are qualified to inform you about a treatment plan and means to provide preventative care for the rest of your herd or flock.

They are also qualified to provide you with personalized vaccination and deworming schedules for your herd. I cannot provide what vaccines are best for you, as it largely depends on location and disease prevalence for your particular area.

Thank you!!

This is a section that is slowly being worked on as time goes on. Buttons will be added as new diseases are written about. Please note that even more common diseases may not be covered here. Talk to your veterinarian if you have any concerns about the health of your animals.
